Restaurant marketing in Dubai Full tables from Meta and Google.
Instagram and Facebook offers that start WhatsApp bookings, and Google Ads that turn "near me" searches into calls and visits.

The short answer
Restaurant marketing in Dubai works best when Meta Ads create the craving with an offer that opens a WhatsApp chat, and Google Ads and Maps catch people searching nearby. Mubeen Khan, performance marketing consultant in Dubai, got 4,579 WhatsApp chats at AED 0.58 for one restaurant and 918 calls plus 53,600 direction requests from AED 13.5K for another.
- Cost per WhatsApp chat

How restaurant marketing works in Dubai
Dubai diners decide fast and on their phones. One person scrolls Instagram at 10 pm and sees a breakfast offer. Another searches "lunch buffet near me" at 12:30 and wants directions now. A restaurant marketing plan that works covers both moments: Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) to create demand, and Google Ads with your Google Business Profile to capture it.

I measure every campaign in customer actions a restaurant can count: WhatsApp conversations, table bookings, calls, direction requests and orders. Likes and reach are useful signals, but they do not pay rent in JBR, Al Barsha or Dubai Marina.
Meta Ads for restaurants: offers that start WhatsApp chats
Click-to-WhatsApp ads are the cheapest way I know to turn Instagram attention into a booking in Dubai. The ad shows a clear offer, the guest taps once, and a WhatsApp conversation opens with your team or an AI assistant that confirms the table. For one family restaurant, an AED 5 breakfast offer produced 4,579 WhatsApp chats at AED 0.58 each and reached 185,000 people.

Group bookings work better with a short instant form. A Dubai buffet restaurant collected 602 party booking leads at AED 9.39 each, plus 1,718 WhatsApp conversations at AED 4.17. Video and retargeting keep the brand in mind between visits: for a momo restaurant chain, video ThruPlays cost AED 0.01 and branch launch campaigns in Al Barsha and JLT drove profile visits from AED 0.23.
Google Ads and Google Maps for restaurants
Google Ads capture people who are already hungry and searching. Search and local campaigns linked to your Google Business Profile show your restaurant for "near me", cuisine and occasion searches, and are tracked on calls and direction requests rather than clicks. Your reviews, photos, menu and opening hours on Maps affect how well those ads convert.

The same approach works for venues: a snooker and pool lounge in Dubai got 11,200 local actions from AED 6,300 of spend, about AED 0.56 per action.
Restaurant advertising channels compared
| Channel | You pay for | Best for | Measure it by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Ads (Instagram, Facebook) | Impressions, optimised for chats or leads | Offers, new branches, Ramadan and Iftar, events | Cost per WhatsApp chat and per booking |
| Google Ads and Maps | Clicks | Near-me and cuisine searches, tourists, lunch trade | Calls, direction requests, reservations |
| Delivery app ads (Talabat and others) | Commission per order plus paid placements | Delivery volume inside the app | Orders and margin after commission |
| Influencers | A fee per post or visit | Awareness and openings | Bookings using a code or tracked link |
Delivery apps reach hungry people, but the app keeps the customer data and takes a commission on every order. Meta and Google Ads send guests to channels you own, such as your WhatsApp, booking page and Google Business Profile, so you can retarget them and bring them back.
How much restaurant marketing costs in Dubai
Budget for two things: ad spend, paid to Meta and Google, and management, paid to whoever runs the campaigns. For most Dubai restaurants I suggest starting with at least AED 5,000 a month in ad spend across Meta and Google, more for multiple branches or a launch.
| Item | Typical monthly range in Dubai (Oct 2026) | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Ad spend, one restaurant | From AED 5,000 | Meta offers and WhatsApp campaigns plus Google search and local |
| Entry social media management | AED 2,500 to 5,000 | Posting and scheduling, usually no ads management |
| Growth agency retainer | AED 6,000 to 15,000 | Strategy, short-form video and ad account management |
| Full-service F&B agency | AED 12,000 to 25,000+ | Content, paid ads, influencers, SEO and reviews |
Agency ranges are published Dubai agency price guides as of August to October 2026; your quote depends on the number of branches, content needs and ad spend. The number that matters is cost per booking or visit, not the retainer.
Do you need a permit to advertise a restaurant in the UAE?
Since 1 February 2026, the UAE Media Council requires an Advertiser Permit for anyone publishing paid or unpaid promotional content on social media in the UAE, including influencers and agencies; the permit is free for the first three years for residents. If your restaurant hires influencers, check each one holds a valid permit and that every post is clearly labelled as an advert. Rules are checked as of October 2026; confirm details with the UAE Media Council.
Seasons that move Dubai restaurant sales
Ramadan is the biggest marketing window for many Dubai restaurants. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027 (UAE astronomers' forecast, autumn 2026), so Iftar and Suhoor menus and creative should be ready in January. For one family restaurant, Iftar buffet campaigns produced 414 WhatsApp conversations at AED 2.97 each, and Eid campaigns reached 173,000 people.
- Ramadan Iftar and Suhoor offers, then Eid
- Cooler months from October to April, when outdoor dining and tourists peak
- Weekend brunch, Diwali, Christmas and New Year's Eve
- Back to school and summer value menus for residents
- Arabic and English creative for each season
How I run restaurant marketing: the first 30 days
- Audit and tracking (week 1)Review your Meta and Google accounts, Business Profile and menu, then track WhatsApp chats, calls, direction requests and bookings as conversions.
- Offer and creative (week 1 to 2)Pick one hero offer per branch, such as a breakfast deal, a lunch buffet or a group package, and shoot short phone videos of the food and the room.
- Launch Meta and Google (week 2)Click-to-WhatsApp and booking campaigns on Instagram and Facebook within a few kilometres of the branch, and Google search and local campaigns for near-me searches.
- Reply fast (ongoing)Chats go cold within minutes. Your team or a WhatsApp AI agent answers, shares the menu and confirms the table.
- Optimise and retarget (week 3 to 4)Move budget to the ads with the lowest cost per booking, retarget everyone who chatted or visited, and report in AED each week.

Why restaurants hire an independent consultant
Most F&B marketing agencies in Dubai sell content first and ads second. I work the other way round: every dirham of ad spend is tracked to a chat, call, visit or booking, and I run the account myself rather than handing it to a junior. You keep full ownership of your ad accounts, pixel and customer data. Book a free strategy session and I will review your current ads and Business Profile.

Restaurant marketing in Dubai
How much does restaurant marketing cost in Dubai?
Plan for ad spend plus management. Most Dubai restaurants should spend at least AED 5,000 a month on Meta and Google Ads. Agency retainers in Dubai typically run from AED 2,500 for basic social media to AED 25,000 or more for full-service F&B marketing (October 2026). Judge it by cost per booking.
What is the best way to advertise a restaurant in Dubai?
Combine Meta Ads and Google Ads. Instagram and Facebook offers with a click-to-WhatsApp button create demand and bookings, while Google search ads and Maps catch people searching nearby. In my accounts this produced WhatsApp chats from AED 0.58 and 918 calls from AED 13.5K of Google spend.
Do Facebook and Instagram ads work for restaurants?
Yes, when they sell a clear offer and open a WhatsApp chat instead of chasing likes. A Dubai family restaurant got 4,579 WhatsApp conversations at AED 0.58 from one AED 5 breakfast campaign, and a buffet restaurant got 602 party booking leads at AED 9.39 each.
Should a restaurant use Google Ads or Meta Ads?
Both, for different jobs. Google Ads capture people already searching for somewhere to eat, so they bring calls and direction requests the same day. Meta Ads create demand with offers, launches and seasonal menus. Start with Google if you rely on walk-ins and searches, and Meta if you sell offers or events.
Does a restaurant need a permit to advertise on social media in the UAE?
Since 1 February 2026, the UAE Media Council requires an Advertiser Permit for people and agencies publishing promotional content on social media, including influencers. It is free for residents for the first three years. Check that any influencer you hire holds a permit, and confirm your own case with the Media Council.
How can a restaurant get more bookings on WhatsApp?
Run click-to-WhatsApp ads with one clear offer, reply within minutes with the menu and available times, and confirm the table in the chat. A WhatsApp AI agent can answer instantly at night. Track each chat as a conversion so Meta finds more people who actually book.
